|We arrived at the Liverpool Sea Terminal on Thursday the April 24 at 09:30 to watch a delayed SEACAT ISLE OF MAN arrive 15 minutes late. |
Boarding commenced at 10.28 and we could see the sailing would be delayed. After boarding the captain announced that we would be behind schedule due to one of the generators not working.
Departure from the landing stage was at 10:58 almost half an hour behind schedule. We passed the Bar at 36 knots appearing to fly pas the NORBANK out in Liverpool Bay.
The sailing was nearly full with a full compliment of cars onboard. The Irish Sea was quite smooth with a easterly wind of force 4. Visibility was very poor with not being able to see Douglas until we were at the bay.
We watched as SEACAT ISLE OF MAN departed at 14:00 for a sailing to Dublin
We again went to the harbour and watched the BEN-MY-CHREE arrive at 18.12 from Heysham and depart behind schedule at 20.15 to Heysham.
SEACAT ISLE OF MAN returned from Dublin at 20.30 berthing unusually berthing stern on in the harbour. Fifteen minutes later she came off the berth, turned to face bow in further down Victoria Pier.
SUPERSEACAT TWO docked at the pier at 21.05 the two cats facing each other bow to bow.
Boarding commenced at 21:45 with departure on time at 22:00. My first impressions of the craft where good but she could still do with a makeover and the way her play area was arranged I don't think was very well
planned nor the entrance of the shop.
I think she was better when she was last on the Liverpool routes but I was still very pleased with her. SUPERSEACAT TWO arrived in to the Mersey cutting engines at New Brighton at making her final approach and arriving in Liverpool at 12:25.
(What did surprise me was the outward journey on SEACAT ISLE OF MAN was 2 hours and 15minutes but on the return home on SUPERSEACAT TWO the crossing took 2 hours and 25 minutes)
