SUPERSEACAT III - the ships' maiden passenger voyage from Liverpool to Dublin on April 08, 1999. She was given a fire monitor salute by Howard Smith Tugs on the Mersey and Dublin Port Tugs on the Liffey.

Before the EU confirmed the abolition of duty free facilities between member nations it had during 1998 been hoped that SSC2 and SSC3 would operate a triangular service on the Irish Sea during 1999. However, with the Duty Free ending at the end of June, cut backs were made and the Liverpool - Dublin service reduced to one round trip per day from 2000 though a weekend triangular service did commence in 2002 operated by SEACAT ISLE OF MAN.
