PS Waverley - Liverpool Arrivals & Departures

Photographs  Peter Challis 2013

WAVERLEY had been due to arrive on the Mersey on June 01 to operate a Lancashire Coast cruise in the morning and an evening "Showboat" cruise. Unfortunately her departure from Glasgow was delayed due to 'technical problems'. She eventually arrived on the Mersey slightly earlier than expected on the morning of June 02, 2013 before the rope handling crew at Liverpool Cruise Terminal were ready which resulted in her circling on the river before coming along side.
It took some time to load the 702 passengers and WAVERLEY did not finally let go until around 10:21 and headed off for the north Wales coast on a 10 hour cruise.
She returned to the river slightly ahead of schedule and passed New Brighton quite slowly as there were a number of traffic movements. However she was alongside the Liverpool Cruise Terminal around 20:00 on schedule.
WAVERLEY departed Liverpool on Monday June 03 shortly after 09:00 ready to take up her Bristol Channel cruising programme as shown below.
