Astor Calls at Falmouth

Photographs  John H. Luxton 2014

Transocean Tours' ASTOR [20,704 / 1987] called at Falmouth on May 28, 2014 on a Round the British Isles cruise operated from Bremerhaven and is seen here at the County Wharf berth which is usually used by visiting cruise ships.

ASTOR was ordered by the South African Marine Corporation (Safmarine) from  Howaldtswerk-Deutsche Werft, Hamburg to operate a Cape Town - Southampton service. However, the plans were abandoned and she spent time sailing for the Black Sea Shipping Company as the FYODOR DOSTOEVSKIY. She has been chartered to German Cruise operator Transocean Tours for a number of years.
