Photographed the day after it was revealed that the Mersey Ferries were running at a £1 million a year loss. ROYAL IRIS is seen operating the ferry service (far left) whilst resting in ALEXANDRA DOCK were SNOWDROP and ROYAL DAFFODIL. Owners Merseytravel have announced a review of the ferries and are currently exploring ways to generate more income to attempt to stem the losses and increase revenue. Passenger carryings in June 2012 have slumped to just over 50,000 from over 73,000 in 2010. A report in the local press suggests that review discussions are at an early stage and more details are expected to be announced later this year.
