Isle of Inishmore Sails Up Milford Haven to Pembroke Dock

Irish Ferries ISLE OF INISHMORE [34,031grt / 1997] seen approaching Pembroke Dock on her morning sailing from Rosslare on Monday April 14, 2014 viewed from Llanreath Beach at the end of Fort Road.

Also visible in some of the photographs is the South West Gun Tower, now a private residence, built in 1851. One of two towers built to protect the then Royal Navy Yard from attack. It was originally armed with one 32 pounder gun and three twelve pounders. The gun tower was later armed with anti-aircraft guns.
