Isle of Inishmore Passes Dale Fort Outbound for Rosslare

Photographs  John H. Luxton 2014

Irish Ferries ISLE OF INISHMORE [34,031grt / 1997] seen passing near Dale Fort outbound from the Milford Haven waterway on her 14:45 Pembroke Dock to Rosslare sailing on Sunday April 13, 2014. Dale Fort is one of a number of fortifications erected to protect the Milford Haven waterway and the approaches to the former Royal Naval Yard at Pembroke Dock. Dale Fort, bottom photograph, is now a Field Studies Centre. Whilst the fort is not accessible to the public, a god view across the entrance to Milford Haven waterway can be had from the coastal path which passes close to the fort's walls.
