Snaefell Visits Fleetwood

Photographs © Dave Worth & John H. Luxton 2008

On Wednesday July 30, 2008 SNAEFELL operated the second of the two day excursions scheduled for summer 2008 between Douglas and Fleetwood. As with the excursion earlier in July the sailings were very well supported with a capacity load of 475 being uplifted from Fleetwood. Unlike the earlier excursion the weather was not too good but it appeared to fail to dampen the spirits of those travelling as everyone your web master observed appeared to be enjoying themselves.

If anyone wants evidence of a demand for sailings between Fleetwood and Douglas during the summer months one only had to look at the queues! One hopes that this year's sailings are a precursor to even more in 2009. The company should be congratulated on restoring the Fleetwood - Douglas link with the 2008 excursions.
