Snaefell Whitehaven Excursion Departure and Arrival at Douglas

Photographs  Jenny Williamson 2008

This was Snaefell leaving for Whitehaven on the morning of Wednesday 18 June, and then returning early afternoon. As no vehicles were taken, the linkspan was not needed, therefore, no 4 berth was used in Douglas. On the seventh photograph, VIKING can be seen arriving in the background. On the photos of VIKING, she turned from the Liverpool direction, with a good list, which then turned into a roll!

Reports suggest that this excursion was not well supported with only around 30 passengers sailing out from Douglas. On her return to Douglas she only had around 70 passengers.
