This was Snaefell leaving for
Whitehaven on the morning of Wednesday 18 June, and then returning
early afternoon. As no vehicles were taken, the linkspan was not
needed, therefore, no 4 berth was used in Douglas. On the seventh
photograph, VIKING can be seen arriving in the background. On the
photos of VIKING, she turned from the Liverpool direction, with a
good list, which then turned into a roll!
Reports suggest that this
excursion was not well supported with only around 30 passengers
sailing out from Douglas. On her return to Douglas she only had
around 70 passengers.
