Snaefell: The Steam Packet's return to Fleetwood

Photographs © Jenny Willaimson 2008

The visit of SNAEFELL to Fleetwood on July 02, 2008 marked the first Isle of Man Steam Packet Company's first sailings to and from the Lancashire Port since the sale of the LADY OF MANN in 2005. The photographs above and left being taken in the morning whilst those below were taken as SNAEFELL returned to Fleetwood in the evening. The second and final sailing this season to and from Fleetwood takes place on July 30, 2008. One hopes that Fleetwood once again features as a regular summer excursion port. Reports indicate that loadings from Fleetwood to Douglas and return were at vessel capacity levels which indicates a high level of demand for a more regular summer service.
