Manannan Fire Exercise at Liverpool

Photographs  Peter Challis 2013

A planned exercise fire brigade exercise took place on board MANANNAN at Liverpool on Saturday October 19, 2013. The exercise held in conjunction with the Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service too place after MANANNAN completed her morning sailing to Liverpool. A press release by the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company stated that the emergency scenario would be based around an engine room fire, with trapped / injured crew. The exercise aimed to enhance crew training and their response to an emergency situation, in addition to offering Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service officers an opportunity to familiarise themselves with MANANNAN, and high speed craft in general.
