Captain Jensen Commemorates the First Shot of WWI on Boudicca

Photographs  John H. Luxton 2014

At 18:00 on June 28, 2014 whilst berthed at Avonmouth Docks, prior to sailing for Liverpool BOUDICCA commemorated the first shot of the First World War fired by Gavrillo Princip who assassinated Archduke Franz Ferdinand. Fortunately I was in the right place at the right time standing above the bridge wing and was able to video Captain Jensen blow the whistle. The captain had spotted me just before he blew the whistle and called me to cover my ears as I was standing directly below the whistle. Of course trying hold the camera and cover one's ears made for a somewhat jerky video!
