On Thursday September 27, 2012 the Merseyside Branch of the World Ship Society visited OCEAN COUNTESS at the Liverpool Cruise Terminal. The ship was originally built for Cunard as CUNARD COUNTESS before being sold in the mid 1990s She subsequently sailed as AWANI DREAM, OLYMPIC COUNTESS, OCEAN COUNTESS, LILI MARLEEN, OCEAN COUNTESS, RUBY and since 2007 as OCEAN COUNTESS. Since 2004 she has been owned by Maximus Navigation and operated by Majestic International Cruises both of Athens, Greece. Since 2010 she has been chartered to the British company Cruise and Maritime Voyages [CMV] of Dartford. However, in August 2012 it was announced that CMV would end her charter on October 2012 replacing her with All Leisure Group's DISCOVERY. She is seen here during her penultimate Liverpool Turnaround call on September 27, 2012. Her final departure from Liverpool will on October 09, 2012.
