|Queen Mary 2 - Visits Liverpool|

|Some of the best shots to be had of the QUEEN MARY 2 arriving at Liverpool on September 15, 2011 were to be had from the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company's MANANNAN morning sailing to Douglas. The sailing had only been inserted into the schedule at the last moment to help relieve the backlog caused by extreme weather earlier in the week. It transpired that the sailing was rather lightly loaded under 40 passengers it is believed! - It may not have been a profitable exercise for the Steam Packet - but it was for Adrian who captured many of the great shots on this page! An ill wind can sometimes blow some good. |
Of course the QUEEN MARY 2 was not the only large passenger ship in town at Liverpool on September 15, 2011 the former CUNARD COUNTESS now OCEAN COUNTESS was also performing a cruise turn-round at Langton Dock Cruise Terminal. Unfortunately the OCEAN COUNTESS did not head up river to offer the opportunity of her passengers viewing QUEEN MARY 2 and facilitating a rendezvous of a former genuine Cunarder of the 1970s with a Carnival Cunarder of the naughties! She performed a sharp turn after leaving Langton and headed off to Dublin.
