Isle of Lewis Out and In

Photographs  Peter Challis 2014

Caledonian MacBrayne's ISLE OF LEWIS departed from Cammell Laird #5 Dry Dock  on February 18 following her refit as the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company's MANANNAN waited to enter the same dry dock. ISLE OF LEWIS then headed out for lengthy trials before returning to Birkenhead and berthing in West Float the following morning February 19, before eventually sailing that night. Engine problems being rumoured to be the reason for her return.
