Wind Solution - Christmas Break at Alexandra Dock

Photographs © John H. Luxton 2013

WIND SOLUTION [8,909grt / 1969] berthed at Alexandra Dock, Liverpool on Christmas Eve 2013.

WIND SOLUTION was in port with fleet mate WIND PERFECTION for the Christmas break. Despite the sign in the first photograph reading "Welcome to Langton Cruise Terminal" this is actually attached to an abandoned and derelict caravan which was used as a checkpoint for vehicles entering the cruise terminal area by the Mersey Dock Police until it was abandoned in 2012 following the opening of the Liverpool Cruise Terminal for cruise turn-rounds in 2012.

WIND SOLUTION was built in Denmark by Aalborg Værft in 1969  as the PRINCESSAN CHRISTIANA for Sessan Line which operated between Sweden and Denmark for which she served until 1981. After that she had a varied career in both northern and southern Europe details of which can be found on The Ferry Site.
