Rockpiper Calls at Liverpool

Photographs  Peter Challis 2014

Royal Boskalis Group's pipe burying vessel ROCKPIPER [30,601grt / 2012] arrived on the Mersey on Saturday February 08, 2014 and berthed at Liverpool Cruise Terminal. The vessel is "apparently working on the Walney Island Wind Farm and called here for a crew-change. It really appeared to struggle to get on the CLT, even with a plethora of thrusters and as I was driving home I heard Mersey VTS inform Snowdrop that it would be another 30+ mins before it got onto the berth."
