Scillonian III - High and Dry at Albert Pier

Photographs  John H. Luxton 2013

Isles of Scilly Steamship Company SCILLONIAN III [1,295grt / 1977] seen at low water at Albert Pier, Penzance Harbour on Tuesday. October 22, 2013. SCILLONIAN III normally operates from the Lighthouse Pier at Penzance, however, during windy conditions she occasionally operates from Albert Pier. Tuesday October 22, was a scheduled non-sailing day.

The pier is noteworthy in that is boasts the remains, just visible in some of the pictures, of the Albert Pier branch of the former Great Western Railway - the ultimate extremity of the railway in Cornwall.
