|Easter Monday, April 01, 2013 and the Isles of Scilly Steamship Company's GRY MARITHA rests at her berth in the wet dock at Penzance during the early afternoon. Unusually for a Bank Holiday, Penzance was very quiet and the normally busy harbour and dock area was devoid of workers and visitors. Perhaps it was the cold easterly wind that was keeping the harbour quiet? However, a few miles away the bracing breeze did not appear to bother those in a busy Falmouth. Overall the Harbour at Penzance had a melancholy atmosphere.|
It will be noted that the GRY MARITHA was flying her red duster at half mast - presumably in remembrance of former Isles of Scilly Steamship Company chairman Mike Hicks who had passed away just a couple of days previously.
