Serco Marine Service Vessels at Devonport

Serco Marine Services, formerly Serco Denholm Marine Services, have operated the Maritime Services fleet under a 15 year contract with the UK Government since 2007. The vessels are at present undergoing changes in livery and funnel logos to remove the SD logos.

These photographs were taken at Devonport on October 23, 2012.



SD NAVIGATOR a 2510 Multicat capable of buoy handling. Notice the prominent "for hire" banner. She was built by Damen at Hardinxveld in 2009. She is based at Devonport but also operates at Portsmouth.

SD FRANCES - built by Richard Dunston in 1980 is a Felicity Class water tractor mainly used for barge handling.

SD TILLY - Stan Tug 1405 Class constructed by Damen at Gorinchem in 2009. Used as a line handler and general work boat


Twin Unit Tractor Tugs SD CAREFUL (1982) and SD FAITHFUL (1985) both built by Richard Dunston. SD FAITHFUL now carries the new Serco livery. The two tugs are seen returning to base after assisting the arrival of USNS ZEUS on October 23, 2012.

Oban Class passenger SD OBAN (2000) built by McTay Marine of Bromborough. She now operates mainly in support of FOST (Flag Officer Sea Training) at Devonport facilitating crew changes to vessels at anchor. Seen inbound on October 23, 2012 at Devil's Point.
