German Naval Visit to Liverpool

Over the weekend of June 04 - 09 Liverpool welcomed three ships from the Deutsche Marine - FGS LÜBECK and FGS SACHSEN berthed at Huskisson #1 Dock whilst FGS FRANKFURT AM MAIN berthed alongside the Liverpool Cruise Terminal.
The ships were captured sailing past New Brighton by Ian Collard.

FGS LÜBECK a Bremen Class frigate was built by Nordseewerk and commissioned in 1990.
FGS SACHSEN - class leader of the Sachsen Class air defence frigates. Built by Blohm & Voss she was commissioned in 2003.
FRANKFURT AM MAIN is a type 702 Replenishment Ship constructed by Flensburger Schiffbau-Gesellschaft and commissioned in May 2002. The ships also provide hospital facilities. She is seen left and above on Sunday June 07 and whilst arriving, assisted by SMIT BARBADOS on June 04, below.
