BNS Bellis - A Visit

Photographs  John H. Luxton 2013

BNS BELLIS [M916] is a Tripartite Class mine hunter of the Belgian Naval Service. Commisioned in 1986 the ship was involved in rescue operations following the HERALD OF FREE ENTERPRISE disaster. She takes her name from a specie of daisy. The Belgian Naval Service names its mine hunters after flowers.

BNS BELLIS was one of seven vessels visiting Liverpool Cruise Terminal bound for the Joint Warrior 131 Exercise off the Scottish coast in Scotland. She was photographed during a visit by the Merseyside Branch of the World Ship Society on Sunday April 07, 2013.
