Decommissioned HMS Turbulent at Devonport

The decommissioned Trafalgar Class submarine HMS TURBULENT seen at Devonport on Sunday, March 31, 2013. HMS TURBULENT was decommissioned on the July 14, 2012, six months short of three decades' service. She is the second oldest of the Trafalgar Class submarines. The decommissioning process is expected to take 18 months, at the end of which she will go into number 3 basin at Devonport alongside her fleet mate HMS TRAFALGAR to await dismantling. The Trafalgar Class submarines are in the process of being replaced by the Astute Class.
