HMS Ledbury Visits Douglas

Photographs © Jenny Williamson & John H. Luxton 2007

Hunt Class Mine Countermeasures vessel HMS LEDBURY seen arriving at Douglas on Saturday February 15, 2007. She had arrived off the island on Friday September 14 and spent time around Laxey Bay before heading off in the direction of Douglas before returning to Laxey Bay to anchor overnight. She departed Laxey Bay around 08:00 on September 15 and arrived in Douglas harbour shortly after the departure of the BEN-MY-CHREE.

HMS LEDBURY gave ASTOR plenty of space, heading almost into Onchan before squaring up and heading straight in down the fairway. Laxey Towing Company's tug LONAN was on standby to assist with berthing at Victoria Pier if required. The coaches on the Pier are awaiting the last of ASTOR's passengers for morning/day tours of the Island. The photographs below show HMS LEDBURY on the afternoon of Saturday September 15, 2007.
