The following photographs were
taken from the PLYMOUTH SOUND operated by Sound Cruising on April
15, 2006. Of particular note is the return of the King William
statue to the old yard. This is a new replica of the original figure
head which has now been moved to the Devonport Dockyard Museum for
safekeeping. King William's statue stands outside the old covered
slipway on which many of the old "wooden walls" were constructed.
Also of note nearby was a newly delivered hull for a DML built
yacht. Constructed at DML Appledore she had just arrived at
Devonport South yard to be united with her superstructure which can
just be seen on the quay. |

Pilot Vessel OPAL seen above right heading inbound
past the Cremyll was on a "blue light emergency" the blue light can
just be seen illuminated on the mast. Apparently one of the crew of
the SALMOOR which had been working near the breakwater had been
injured and required urgent medical help. RAM SALMOOR followed the
PV OPAL back into port. |
