Gaff topsail schooner SV J.R. TOLKIEN operated by Van Der Rest Sail Charters. She is seen here shortly after arrival at Peel on May 28, 2007. She is one of a number of tall ships visiting the Isle of Man during the TT Festival offering cruises organised by Historical Ships of the Isle of Man.

The J.R. TOLKIEN was built originally as the tug DIERKOW 1964 and rebuilt as a sailing passenger ship in 1994.
