Prince's Landing Stage - Link Span Returns

Photographs © John H. Luxton 2008

The Prince's Landing Stage linkspan was returned to position on the afternoon on July 16 after modifications by NSL Bidston and its temporary replacement constructed on top of an MD&HC "Camel" removed. The span has been altered to allow it to be positioned at the north end of the landing stage to enable a new terminal building to be constructed in the south end. Modifications appear to include the removal of the little used "ski-jump" installed by Sea Containers to enable an MDV1200 and an Incat 74 to berth back to back. Engineers were also noted repositioning the fenders on the stage (centre picture). The afternoon Douglas to Liverpool sailing on July 16 was operated to Heysham.
