Dedicated to the memory of the men and women of the Merchant Navy who lost their lives during Operation Dynamo on May 29, 2012 the memorial at Kallow Point, Port St. Mary features the anchor of the TSS MONA'S QUEEN III of 1934, one of three Isle of Man Steam Packet Company vessels lost at Dunkirk. The anchor had been raised from the sea bed off Dunkirk two years previously and restored by the Cammell Laird shipyard, builders of MONA'S QUEEN [III]. The anchor is orientated so that it's flukes point toward Dunkirk.
The wall behind the anchor carries the names of the 24 crew of the MONA'S QUEEN who were lost.
