Thor and MTS Vector Arrive at the IoM Steam Packet Stage

Photographs  John H. Luxton 2012

It isn't very often that two vessels arrive at the Isle of Man Steam Packet Landing Stage almost simultaneously. These views taken around 13:00 show the diving support vessel MV THOR  of SALVESEN UK LTD arriving at the south end of the stage whilst multicat MTS VECTOR of Marine and Towage Services arrives at the north end of the stage, the latter vessel being involved in work to repair the Twelve Quays north berth.

Salvesen's THOR is often to be seen at the Steam Packet stage undertaking maintenance work. Also visible on the stage were two of Salvesen's vans. One wonders if they are investigating the north end of the Steam Packet Landing Stage which appears to be very low in the water as is quite apparent in two of the above photographs? This has become very apparent since the removal for dry docking of the IoMSPCo linkspan pontoon.
