Busy Mersey Tide - February 25, 2012

The early afternoon tide of Saturday, February 25, 2012 proved to be quite a busy one with ships arriving for Liverpool Docks, Alfred Entrance, Cammell Laird, Tranmere Oil Terminal and the Manchester Ship Canal - along with the usual Twelve Quays and tug traffic along with dredging operations in progress in Cammell Laird Wet Basin and entrance.. These views were captured from the Mersey Ferry ROYAL IRIS.

Self Discharging Bulk Carrier CSL BERGEN (1985) seen inbound for Eastham around 12:15. She is operated by CSL Ships Europe.

Right ESHIPS QUEST (2003) operated Eships of Abu Dhabi, also seen inbound for Eastham Locks.


Both ESHIPS QUEST and CSL BERGEN both took tugs off Tranmere (left).

Meanwhile crude oil tanker HANNE KNUTSEN (2000) of Knutsen OAS Shipping was seen inbound for Tranmere Oil Terminal accompanied by tugs SVITZER STANLOW and OAKGARTH.

BEN-MY-CHREE arrived at Twelve Quays around 13:00

Chemical / Oil Tanker El ZORRO passed Seacombe shortly after 13:00 outbound from Eastham is owned by NGM Energy of Greece.
