Marco Polo Arrives in Douglas Bay

MARCO POLO is seen arriving in Douglas Bay on Saturday May 09, 2009 the first cruise call at Douglas for the 2009 season.

Originally built as the ALEXANDR PUSHKIN by V.E.B.  Mathias-Thesen Werft, East Germany in 1965 for the Baltic Shipping Company of the Soviet Union who operated her until 1985. From 1985 to 1991 she sailed for the Far Estern Shipping Company. From 1991 ownership changed to Orient Lines and remaining with that company until 2008 when she was acquired by Global Maritime and chartered to Transocean Tours of Germany.
