With
bad weather forecast, the small 1990 grt coaster anchored in Kinsale outer
harbour. However, the high spring tide, combined with severe gales on the
morning of Thursday October 28, led to the SEEBRISE dragging her anchor. She
was washed ashore just south of Charles Fort where she proved a great
attraction for locals and late season holiday makers. Initially there was some
concern about pollution, as there was a pungent smell of engine oil was
noticeable. However, no significant leak developed and fortunately she was
refloated on the Friday morning tide. |
