Irish Sea Ships

Sea Stallion of Glendalough Dublin's Viking Warship

Photographs © John H. Luxton 2007

One of the most unusual ships to sail on the Irish Sea in 2007 is the SEA STALLION OF GLENDALOUGH. She is a replica Viking Longship based on a vessel built by the Viking invaders near Dublin in 1042. She arrived in Dublin in August 2007. Taken from the water she has been put on display at Collins Barracks. She is due to sail back to Denmark where she was built in 2008. For full details see the ship's web site: www.havhingsten.dk She is a very impressive vessel and much larger than ODIN'S RAVEN which is displayed at the House of Manannan at Peel.
