HMS Bronington - Ten Degree List in Gilbrook Basin

Photographs  John H. Luxton 2013

Former Royal Navy "ton" class minesweeper is seen at Gilbrook Basin Birkenhead on October 26, 2013. Since the closure of the Historic Warships she had been laid up in Vittoria Dock, but during September 2010 she was moved to Gilbrook Basin (West Float).

The wooden hulled ship has developed a noticeable list in the past three years. Compare these photographs with those taken in September 2010. How much longer she will remain afloat remains to be seen.

These photographs were taken from Mersey Ferries' MV SNOWDROP operating the Daniel Adamson Preservation Society's "Birkenhead Docker" charter cruise on October 26, 2013.
