HMS Bronington Awaits Her Fate a Gilbrook Basin

Photographs  John H. Luxton 2010

Former Royal Navy "ton" class mines. weeper is seen at Gilbrook Basin Birkenhead on September 18, 2010. Since the closure of the Historic Warships she had been laid up in Vittoria Dock, but during September 2010 she was moved to Gilbrook Basin (West Float).

The exterior of this wooden vessel is clearly in very poor condition and has clearly deteriorated significantly since the closure of the Historic Warships.

There are two videos on YouTube made in April 2009 which clearly show how badly the ship has deteriorated both inside and out. It must only be a short time before demolition begins tucked away out of public view.
