RAF 200 Class Seaplane Tender at Pembroke Dock

Photographs  John H. Luxton 2013

RAF 200 Class Seaplane Tender at the Pembroke Dock Flying Boat Museum operated by the Sunderland Trust. The trust is preserving artefacts associated with the RAF Pembroke Dock Flying boat base operational from the mid 1930s to 1959 and operates an interesting museum on two sites within the dockyard at Pembroke Dock. These 200 Class tenders, built in the 1930s were an important part of RAF Marine Operations at Pembroke Dock.

This craft is currently awaiting restoration. Details of the history of the vessel can be found  on the interpretation board which appears in the bottom photograph and explains the relationship of this type of vessel to "Aircraftsman T.E. Shaw" better known as "Lawrence of Arabia".
