Photographs by Neil Ralphs

On looking at the these photographs taken on the River Mersey in 1967 it is interesting to note how the design of tankers has changed over the past three decades. The traditional "centre island" design has all but disappeared. Another feature which has disappeared are the three stacks of the now demolished Clarence Dock power station, to be seen almost merging with the Serina's slender funnels.
