Julia in Canning Half Tide Basin

JULIA was built in Faaborg, Denmark, in 1938 as a Baltic Trader. In 1968 she was converted to her present rig, a two masted schooner. Built of oak, Julia is 131 feet overall and carries 5,598 square fee of sail. She is operated by Turk Phoenix Ltd and appeared in the Hornblower series of TV Movies along with her fleetmate - GRAND TURK. She was the first vessel to arrive on Merseyside for the 2003 Mersey River Festival on May 11, 2003.
